Toroma county Mp Cyrus Amodoi Imalingat is dead. The legislator died last night when a taxi he was travelling in was involved in a fatal accident on Jinja road towards Lugazi town in the wee hours of the night
The same accident claimed the life of ENG.ROBERT WAMONO BAGUMA and about 20 people have been confirmed dead in this accident that involved 3 taxis and a truck
Hon Cyrus Amodoi Imalingat was a second time MP. He was a retired UPDF officer who retired in 2010 at the rank of Lt to join politics.
Information reaching the SpearNews indicate that the MP had given out his car to assist Katakwi District Official in organising a District function.
Katakwi District is one of the district with a lot of funding gaps and can’t afford to buy cars for its officials.
Regional Police spokesperson for Savannah region, Mr Lamek Kigozi said the accident involved three cars; two taxis, one from Old taxi park Reg. No UAW 200W heading to Mbale and another Reg. No. UAL 278F travelling to Busia and a Fuso truck Reg. No UAN 447X .
Police said details of the victims are still scanty but residents who visited the scene managed to identify some of the deceased as Negule Jerome, the Budaka District Personnel officer and a one Peter Shiminyu from Mbale District.
Among the dead was also a female student of Uganda Martyrs University- Nkozi putting on her graduation gown, an indication she was from attending the Tuesday graduation ceremony.

MPs are moving around Parliament grief stricken because of the death of their colleague. The MPs are particularly sad that Ugandans of all walks of life have taken to social media to celebrate ,mock and post all sorts of things about their dead colleague.
Many people on social media condemn the dead MP as having “Eaten” his Parliamentary car money and was now using taxis for transport which has led to his death.
