Kato Lubwama Evicted from royal theatre over rent

Hon MP cum renown comedian and actor Kato Lubwama has this morning been evicted from Royal theatre located along Martin Road by his landlord Hajji Twaha Gwavu for rent arrears that dates 3 years back. Court bailiffs and police carried on the forceful eviction

It is said that Kato Lubwama and Haj Twaha made an agreement in 2009 in which Kato was to develop the then vacant plot of land into his Cooper Theater with a 2 years rent waiver meaning he was to start payment in 2011 which he did until 2013.

In December 2014, Twaha dragged Kato to court for failure to remit rent that had accrued to Shs50m by then.

The two have been involved in legal battles since then until Twaha secured an eviction order being implemented today. The landlord is said to be demanding 200m
