Brenda Nakyejju, a second year student of Film and Drama residing in Cyber hostel last night Jumped 3 floors down from Block B of Mitchel Hall Makerere University

“she jumped because she had been locked in the room and threatened with rape,” According to the just elected guild president Kato who resides in the same hall same floor on which the incident happened

According to one of the hall resident Joel Joy Mucunguzi who witnessed all this, Brenda mentioned the culprit as one Jeremiah Mukyemu, 26, a Mugisu by tribe and student of Medicine and Surgery with whom they have been acquitted since the beginning of this semester.

The lady was rushed to Mulago Hospital by a good Samaritan Mr Salim Mutumba who was passing-by led by police commander Jude Masingano on a police motor cycle.

The guild president Kato told online news site ChimpRepport on phone that “She is improving and able to speak thank God she fell on soft ground”. Her parents are at Mulago with her.

Police said they  apprehended Jeremiah Mukyemu and he is being held at Wandegeya police.

Police said according to their investigations, the 2 had an evening out in Wandegeya then Mukyemu invited her to his room.

Once inside, its alleged he made 2 attempts at rapping her but failed. Police said after the two failed attempts he locked her inside and went to buy some things from the canteen,”

While inside the scared lady is said to have boiled water in a percolator and as the guy opened the door on his way back the lady poured the hot water onto his face.

At this point the boy went wild and started charging towards the lady which forced her to jump out through the window.

Police said the boy had a similar attempted rape case in 2015 and disappeared until later when they sorted themselves with the girl’s family and returned to school.
