JEEMA an opposition party in Uganda sent an Easter message to Ugandans in which it urged religious leaders to tell the congregations about Museveni’s wrongs to Ugandans without fear or favor. The message signed by party president Asuman Basalirwa is reproduced here:
Justice Forum would like to congratulate all Christian faithful for completing the Lent period. Lent is an act of worship and commitment to God.
We so pray that the most high accepts all the good deeds done and forgives all that could have gone wrong. Easter celebrations reminds us of the hard times Jesus went through after being betrayed by his closest disciple and reminds us that any rightful cause is worth dying for. We also urge all believers to pray for our nation Uganda and the world at large.
We request religious leaders to take it upon themselves to speak about the wrong things perpetrated by the Museveni regime without fear or favor. As we celebrate, please put it in mind that many Ugandans are dying of hunger and we urge you who can extend a hand to our brothers and sisters to donate to those that can’t afford, so that Easter becomes a special day for them.
Lets celebrate this festive weekend with our families and friends and pray together to God to liberate our mother land.
